Album: DJ Sliqe, 25K & Maglera Doe Boy – Champion Music 2
Two years passed since South African street rap titans 25K and Maglera Doe Boy joined forces with hip-hop DJ, Sliqe for the EP, Champion Music in 2020. Since then, both 25K and MDB released their debut albums that solidified their don statuses in South African hip-hop. On the sequel to the 2020 EP, both champions are still as hungry as they were then, now spazzing over hard-hitting trap production with the fortitude of rookies with a lot to prove. The sequel is longer and bigger, boasting features from Blxckie, Emtee, Zingah, MashBeatz and Flow Jones Jr.—who appears on the smash ‘Sta Soft’, where he delivers a memorable hook over a symphony of strings and brass horns anchored by a pulverising trap bassline. Champion Music 2 is the soundtrack to the MCs and their guests’s wins. “Me and Maglera gave niggas the formula, they need to address us as champions” 25K raps on “Everything”.
