Album: Peezy – GHETTO
Peezy continues to prove himself in Michigan’s rap community, even though he’s firmly established his place in its pantheon. Having levelled up once again with 2022’s solid ONLY BUILT 4 DIAMOND LINKS, the Detroit native returns with a shorter project that nonetheless mirrors the growth and development felt on his prior album. He effectively weaponises his almost conversational flow throughout GHETTO, particularly on cuts like “Brooklyn Chop House” and the chilling “Real Stars”. In line with his stature, he keeps his guests strictly local. Kash Doll proves a worthy foil with tough talk and boss moves on “FW That”, while singer Brielle Lesley brings an explicit energy to the provocative R&B hybrid “She Ain’t Scared”.
